Accused North Penn High School intruder waives hearing

LANSDALE >> A 22-year-old Towamencin man accused of walking into North Penn High School last month with a knife in his backpack while on a mission to find textbooks relating to the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is headed for trial after waiving his preliminary hearing.

Leon Hurd Alexander, of the 1100 block of Snyder Road, appeared before Lansdale District Judge Edward Levine and waived two counts of first-degree misdemeanor possession of a weapon on school property and one count of third-degree misdemeanor defiant trespassing on school grounds, records show.
