SAXTON: World of Outlaws to invade Jersey

Claiming to be the Greatest Show on Dirt, the World of Outlaw Craftsman Sprint Car Series is set to invade New Egypt Speedway on Tuesday night May 23rd for the 5th Annual Jersey Outlaw Classic. This will be the only Garden State appearance by the World of Outlaws in 2017.

Kasey Kahne Racing’s Daryn Pittman has had this race circled on the calendar since the schedule was announced as he has won the last four previous Jersey Outlaw Classic’s at the Ocean County, NJ D-Shaped oval.

Police: Female pedestrian struck and killed by SEPTA train in Hatfield

HATFIELD TWP. >> A female pedestrian was struck and killed by a SEPTA train early Monday morning between the Fortuna and Colmar stations, Hatfield Township police confirmed Monday afternoon.

Detective Sgt. John Ciarlello said that shortly after 5 a.m., the female – whose name and age was not released – was on the tracks near the 2300 block of North Broad Street when she was fatally struck by a westbound train, which was immediately stopped by an engineer.

Police: Montgomery Township opioid dealer arrested

TOWAMENCIN >> After an investigation, Towamencin detectives have arrested a 24-year-old Montgomery Township man accused of dealing prescription opioid pills and heroin in the area, according to police.

Joseph Robert Galanti, of the 100 block of Clayton Court, has been charged with felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as misdemeanor counts of receipt in commerce of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
