Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County
- Founded in 1990 by volunteers.
- Have completed construction of 86 homes—providing housing to 245 people.
- Zero foreclosures in 20 years.
- Partner with our families to provide workshops on budgeting and homeownership.
- Homeowners are NOT given homes—they put in an average of 250 hours of sweat equity as their ‘down payment’ and are provided a zero % mortgage to pay for their home.
- Building ‘green’ by utilizing recycled and renewable materials.
- Building Energy Star Rated Homes which reduce energy costs by over 30% for our homeowners.
- Awarded prestigious “Contractor of the Year” award in 2011 by Bucks/Mont NARI. Category: Whole House Renovation—under $250,000.
- 1050 individuals from Bucks County volunteered with Habitat Bucks in 2010.
- 26,000 people in Bucks County are currently living in sub-standard or unaffordable housing situations. (Bucks County Census Statistics 2007)
- For a person earning minimum wage it would take 108 hours of work per week to pay for an AVERAGE Bucks County apartment.
- Children of homeowners are 25% more likely to graduate from high school.

- Habitat ReStore helps Bucks County residents reuse and recycle, offering quality used and surplus building materials and household items at bargain prices.
- Habitat Bucks is launching new program called “A Brush With Kindness” in July 2011. This program will help existing homeowners who are unable to maintain the exterior of their homes, by providing minor repairs.
