Pearl S. Buck – The Woman
- Lived first 40 years in China
- Lived last 40 years in Perkasie, Bucks County, PA
- First American woman to win Pulitzer and Nobel Prizes for literature
- Discriminated against growing up in China as a white girl with blond haired blue-eyes
- In 1949, found children in America being discriminated against for the color of their skin
- Remembered similar discrimination she faced in China
- As a result, she founded Pearl S. Buck International – her legacy - to help children being discriminated against because of the color of their skin.
Pearl S. Buck International – Her Legacy
Has changed the lives of over 2 million (and counting) children and family members through:
- Child Adoption – Over 7,000 children united with local families through adoption
- Child Sponsorship – Like Save the Children – Sponsor a child for .82 a day – gives them access to life changing education and healthcare programs – letters, photos back and forth
- Community Programs – Over 20,000 annual visitors tour PSB House enjoy tours, events

- What is her legacy? Pearl S. Buck International - the story of One Woman, One Vision, Over 2 million (and counting) children and families lives changed
- First child ever helped is about to become Chairman of the Board in 2012

- Discover the Legacy Tour was developed to “let the secret out” by having as many community members as possible take a powerful 60-inute complimentary tour

- Tour goers will learn about the legacy of Pearl S. Buck International through the voices of those whose lives have been changed by Child Adoption, Child Sponsorship, and Community Programs
