Fort Washington rallies past Roslyn for championship

Fort Washington >> For the 21st time since 1976, the Fort Washington Golden Generals won the Lower Montco League championship as they won a thrilling contest against Roslyn 5-4 at Upper Dublin High School Saturday afternoon.

In his first year in the legion baseball level, 16-year-old Sean Curran earned the championship win throwing the first six innings and striking out four batters.

Paul, Quakertown too much for Pennridge to overcome

QUAKERTOWN >> JJ Paul had a few things working in his favor Saturday afternoon.

The Quakertown left hander had already faced Pennridge this season, so he knew how to attack the Post 255 hitters. He was also throwing on his home field in an elimination game with a chance to extend his team’s season at least one more game.

Proposed rezoning raises concerns in Lower Salford

LOWER SALFORD >> The date has not yet been set, but a public hearing for requested zoning changes on two tracts of land will be held either at the board’s Aug. 1 or Sept. 5 meeting, the Lower Salford Township Board of Supervisors said in response to questions at the board’s July 11 meeting.

The two properties are each owned by Nationwide Insurance.
