NEW BRITAIN >> Charges including drug delivery resulting in death and involuntary manslaughter against William Frank Brennan, 21, of the 800 block of Hilltown Pike in Hilltown, are moving forward to Bucks County Court following Brennan’s waiver of an Aug. 14 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage, New Britain.

Sam Phillips opened a recording studio in Memphis back in 1950. A devotee of rhythm and blues, he worked mostly with African-American musicians at first. He figured there was a large white audience that he hoped to reach with the music he loved. By the mid 50’s, his studio and Sun Records had expanded to include the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley.

Testimony concludes at Horsham man's vehicular homicide trial

NORRISTOWN >> The fate of a Horsham man accused of operating his vehicle in a reckless fashion by speeding and of being the primary cause of a two-vehicle crash in Upper Dublin that killed a Glenside woman is about to be in the hands of a jury.

A Montgomery County jury will begin deliberations on Wednesday at the trial of Erek Collier Cunningham, 49, of the 100 block of New Road, who faces charges of homicide by vehicle, exceeding maximum speed and reckless and careless driving in connection with the 8:44 a.

Sign change on Stump Road in Montgomery Township coming soon

MONTGOMERY TWP. >> A change to a sign on Stump Road is coming soon.

Montgomery Township police have recommended a sign on Stump, where it crosses a creek just north of the township’s municipal complex, be updated to fit current state laws.

“The bridge weight restriction is not in compliance with the state motor vehicle code, so we have to modify the language in our ordinance, and modify the sign,” said Township Manager Larry Gregan.
