2018 Towamencin budget moves ahead, with no tax or rate increases

TOWAMENCIN >> The 2018 budget for Towamencin Township is one big step closer to being final, with no major changes to what residents will pay, and one big topic no longer up for discussion.

The township’s supervisors voted Wednesday night to advertise a 2018 budget with no changes to tax or sewer rates, or the township’s homestead exemption, and with another year of private management of the township’s pool complex.

UPPER GWYNEDD >> After nearly four hours of discussion Monday night, Upper Gwynedd’s commissioners voted down another version of plans for a Wawa fuel station and convenience store on Sumneytown Pike at Church Road.

“Based upon numerous outstanding issues identified in the consultant review letters, comments, reports submitted by all parties, including by Provco, the township and Merck, and the failure of the applicant to demonstrate before us tonight that the numerous issues have been resolved, I hereby make a motion to deny” the project, said Commissioner Jim Santi.
