North Penn board offers 'full support' to student walkout, conversations over gun violence

LANSDALE >> With students planning walkouts across the country next week to protest gun violence in schools, North Penn School District officials have a message for local students planning to take part.

“As the country, and our community, come to terms with yet another senseless act of gun violence, this time at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the North Penn School District will not succumb to the helpless inaction that so often follows these tragedies,” said school board President Tina Stoll.

Whitpain Township passes resolution supporting independent citizens commission to end gerrymandering

WHITPAIN >> On Tuesday the Whitpain Board of Supervisors passed a resolution supporting legislation that would end partisan election gerrymandering in Pennsylvania, making Whitpain the 17th municipality in Montgomery County to pass a support resolution.

Gerrymandering is the practice of a governing party gaining unfair political advantage by manipulating electoral district boundaries.
