Towamencin police chief: Brake retarder ban possible, but only in limited areas

TOWAMENCIN >> Township police have good news and bad news for Towamencin residents who would like to see loud truck brakes restricted on Sumneytown Pike.

The good news is that restrictions are possible, but the bad news is that PennDOT will only allow signs on a much smaller footprint than township officials were hoping, Police Chief Tim Dickinson said Wednesday.

Lansdale burglary suspect headed for trial

LANSDALE >> A 24-year-old Romanian man is headed to trial for allegedly breaking into a Lansdale woman’s residence while she was sleeping upstairs and stealing four bottles of vodka from her freezer.

Clad in a blue prison jumpsuit, Silviu-Vasile Florian – who has been residing on the 400 block of North Chestnut Street – was led by detectives into District Judge Edward Levine’s courtroom, where, accompanied by his public defender, Florian stipulated to a probable cause affidavit in connection with the reported July 23 incident.
