Contract near for fire escape fix on Lansdale's 421 W. Main building

LANSDALE >> Borough officials are moving ahead on repairs to a borough-owned building that Montgomery County is continuing to move into.

Finance Director John Ramey gave an update last week about a project to install a new fire escape on the building, which has served several roles for the borough over the past half-century.

HATFIELD TWP. >> Three students from Hatfield Township were recently recognized for their outstanding academic accomplishments, and for keeping the memory of a late police officer alive.

“What you’re receiving tonight is our highest award in Hatfield Township. It is named after one of the most beloved police officers to ever serve for Hatfield Township, and it was created to recognize the best,” said commissioners President Tom Zipfel.

Police: Hatfield man arrested for allegedly assaulting stepmother

HATFIELD BOROUGH >> Police say a 39-year-old Hatfield Borough man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly assaulting his stepmother late Friday night.

Richard M. Davis, Jr., of the 100 block of West School Street, was arraigned Sunday on one count of second-degree misdemeanor simple assault and one count of summary harassment, then committed to Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post $10,000 cash bail.
