Trial ordered for man accused of attempted car theft in Lansdale

LANSDALE >> A 20-year-old man arrested last month for allegedly trying to steal a Lansdale man’s BMW automobile while drunk and taking three dollars in quarters from the vehicle is headed for trial on several charges after a preliminary hearing in the matter.

Maxwell Joseph Liebsch – who has no fixed address, according to court documents – appeared before Lansdale District Judge Edward Levine, who held for trial one count of third-degree felony theft of movable property, misdemeanor counts of theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property, and summary public drunkenness, records show.

WORCESTER >> Last spring, many runners found that sprinting onward in the woods of Worcester offered certain benefits over barreling along through a typical asphalt jungle.

The premier Variety Club Camp & Development Center AWARE Trail Run, Walk & Spring Fling Party attracted 250 runners and walkers and raised $15,000.

'Straw Hat Bandit' suspect arrested for string of bank robberies in bucks, Montgomery counties

The man believed to be the “Straw Hat Bandit,” robbing 11 banks in Montgomery and Bucks counties over a four-year period, was arrested Thursday by federal authorities.

Richard Boyle, 57, of Doylestown, was taken into custody April 20 by the FBI following the return of an indictment by a federal grand jury April 19, according to the U.

Montgomery County Community College celebrates Earth Day

WHITPAIN >> Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) celebrated Earth Day Wednesday with a tree planting, organic gardening demonstration, a clothing swap, a recycled materials artwork exhibit, raffles and giveaways.

The main event was Empty Bowls, which gave visitors the opportunity to purchase a ceramic bowl made by students in the college’s Ceramics Club.
